Ross Everitt Go-Kart Challenge
Sunday, 13 June 2010
This run was down on attendance numbers from last years challenge, coinciding with the Berry rally on the same weekend. The weather for the run was bright and sunny and the temperature was around 14 degrees. Aki Jaatinen was waiting at the Services Club early with his son Timo eagerly looking forward to the go karts when Natalie and I turned up with the back-up trailer. Allan Boyd turned up on his red Ariel KH500 Twin with Chris Boyd on the trusty Honda CT 110. Dean Davidson with a sparkling '69 Bonny with Cheryl on the more modern Harley Sportster. We all decided to go to Fyshwick via Oaks Estate to Sutton Road along the old Federal Highway and back through Majura Road. Glenn Tankard was already waiting there with his boys and owner Jeff Devine ready with hot sausages, coffee, tea and biscuits. The Go-Kart racing was quite spirited to say the least. Congratulations to Philip Tankard winning again making it two years in a row. Jason Tankard came in second with dad Glenn in third place. What a great effort from team Tankard! Many thanks to Jeff Devine at Grand Prix Karting for the venue and BBQ. Hopefully we can get more members there next year as it was a lot of fun in the karts. Cheers, Roll Call |
