This was an 'extra' ride squeezed into the events program by Mick Gentleman on this last day of spring to take advantage of the continuing mild weather.
He seems to have correctly gauged the desire for more rides with a big rollup.

Any members who visit the club website recently will have noticed there is now a google map of the proposed route for the next ride.
Accordingly the Uriarra ride went past the Airport to the Sutton Road, through Sutton, left at Murrumbateman road, Nanima Road and the Barton highway.
The bumps on the last few k's of the Nanima Road drew the usual comments from the riders of the older rigid bikes. We continued on back to Canberra and via Kingsford smith, William hovel and Coppins Crossing to Uriarra road. Just over 100 k's all up.

As this route took us very close to my place at Scullin I took the opportunity to swap bikes for the rest of the run in a cunning plan to get double points. However, I believe Lisa Mill is toting up the Morisset point this year and will no doubt have none of that!

At the Uriarra BBQ area Aki Jaatinen had the BBQ smoking and I must say the award-winning sausages he had gone to quite some trouble to get were superb. (Speaking of sausages, there is a rumor about that the humble sausage that we have enjoyed on so many rides may be replace by something a bit more up market.) Ian Duvall did backup duties and I believe there were no bike problems on this ride. Thanks to Aki and Ian who volunteered at short notice and see you on the next ride at the go-carts or Molonglo Gorge.
