Rain was forecast for the afternoon but thankfully it never came, however for some reason the general public numbers seemed down on previous years. That was good news for our club members though, especially those hoping to get a ride on one of the new Harley Davidsons and Buells. Fifteen club bikes turned up for the display and for most of the day they were parked comfortably in the shadow of the showroom. Robbo's Cafe was very popular, as was the sausage sizzle, and throughout the day we were all entertained by a very decent Elvis impersonator who also did a darned good range of Johnny Cash songs. In my humble opinion Harley Davidsons have come a long way over the years, with bikes as reliable and comfortable as anything on the market these days. With six speed gearboxes and fuel injection on the larger bikes, they are a smoother and more powerful ride than ever before. They even make some models for us vertically challenged riders, with the foot pegs a little closer to the seat. Lisa rode a few different models and has already chosen one to put on her Christmas wish list. Check out Steve Keough's photos via the club website for a look at the multitude of bikes and smiling faces. Cheers, Craig Mill
