This year's VVC ride to the Moon Rock Café was the first visit since the "Not out of Sight of Black Mountain" ride on 13 Feb 2005. We had 29 bikes on the ride this year compared to 22 in 2005. There were only seven riders to attend on both runs but John Waldron was the only rider on the same bike.

This year's event was run in glorious riding weather, with 21 Celsius, no wind and virtually no traffic.

As usual, we assembled at The Services Club and after a chin wag and riders brief, we all had a very pleasant and stress relieving ride to the Tidbinbilla Tracking Station and the Moon Rock Cafe. The site has some very good displays on Australia's involvement in the NASA Lunar Exploration program. There was no mention of Andy Warhol or Section 52 of the Arizona Desert, (for the Lunar Denial Fan Club members!).

On -site most members opted for one of the gourmet pies and a mugguccino or similar. Not expensive and very tasty. There was plenty to look at and the time appeared to disappear all too rapidly.

Around Two-ish, members drifted home in both directions via Cotter for Northsiders or Point Hut for the Southsiders. It was a very pleasant run and many thanks to Dick Holland for organising the run. Many thanks also to Rob Cornhill and Ionela for taking the Back-up trailer as it is always very comforting to have the assistance available.
