It turned out to be a nice fine day after the downpour on Saturday.

All those who had remembered to move their clocks forward by one hour (DST) were on time at the Services Club to depart at about 10.55AM. Rob Harris arrived just in time, as the backup trailer was leaving the car park.

Club Vice President Steve "Evel Knievel" Davey gave the briefing - to proceed along Kings Ave, then Pialligo, Queanbeyan, and then Sutton Road to Gundaroo. Steve was riding his newly acquired 1971 Harley Sportster.

Only one mishap when Dick Stubbs' 1928 Ariel "nipped up" on Sutton Road. A quick push start got him going again and all went well after that.

At Gundaroo the weather was nice and warm, and members enjoyed drinks, food and conversation at the Pub and at the Cafe across the road.

Dean Davidson's little 200cc Velocette Valiant did an excellent job keeping up with the troops, and gained quite a few admirers on the day.

Steve Butcher & Lyn Meridith eventually arrived a little later in Lyn's Hyundai. Apparently they rescued a tortoise which was crossing the road!

This was the first VVCMCC run (as a rider) for Lorraine's son James, who had just gained his 'L' plate the week before. He was riding Nick Duell's BMW R65. After stopping at Gundaroo for a while, James was eager to continue riding, so he and Lorraine extended their afternoon ride to include Gunning.

This was the last club run for Chris Trautner. He returns home to Germany this month.

By about 2.30pm - 3.00pm all riders had left for home and to enjoy the rest of the long weekend (The Phillip Island MotoGP was being televised live that afternoon)

In future, the owners/proprietors of the Gundaroo Pub (Wine Bar) would like us to let them know in advance that we are coming in vast numbers - in order to help with the catering.
