This run was introduced last year and is short, flat and well suited to older bikes. The morning was a little cold and gray, nevertheless a larger than usual crowd gathered at the Services Club and finding the car park in use, gathered on the side of the road near there. We soon realised there was no backup trailer, whoever was rostered on got their wires crossed, so we phoned Peter Toet and he did backup duty in one of his Packards. Good thing to, as Eddy Ruiz had a problem with his Matchless and was no doubt grateful for a lift home. Thanks Peter.

From Manuka to the Molonglo Gorge is a short run indeed, about ten k’s and some bikes went this way. However, most of us made the run a bit longer, going north up Majura Rd. past the airport to the Federal highway and back down Sutton Rd turning left into the Molonglo Gorge reserve just before Queanbyan. Here we found Paul Madden with the BBQ trailer had the water hot and the sausages cooked, thanks again Paul.

After socialising for a while people started drifting off, Peter Dunster and I followed ‘Pole’ back up the Sutton Rd to his place to check out progress on his BSA v-twin frame, which is coming along nicely.
