Weather: Cool, with a chance of showers

With around twenty bikes assembled at the Services Club car park we were down on the roll up for the previous weekends run to the Bungendore pie shop. There was a possibility of rain, whatever, on this occasion we opted to travel over Kings Ave. bridge passed the Airport and through Queanbyan to Bungendore where we regrouped at the roundabout just down from the pie shops. Most riders made this a brief stop of ten minutes or so before continuing to the Loaded Dog Pub at Tarago for lunch.

I thought the food was better than average and didn’t take long to arrive. I have noticed that most lunches served on our club rides are quite substantial these days, the modest (cheap) hamburger or pie and source seems to be rarely available.

Some diners had there meal al fresco style and in fact the weather remained kind to us on the ride home, however at Bungendore while Col Hill and I headed for the North side via Macs Reef road Mike Gentleman and John Somerville who were riding with us on the return trip, headed South via Queanbyan into the storm clouds of what looked like a certain drenching.

Thanks to Simon Whittaker for doing backup trailer duties and as far as I know nobody had any problems on this ride, unlike Fitz’s Hill, where Paul Madden had to work hard.
